Checkr, a background check service platform with employees dispersed across the US and worldwide, struggled to engage their remote and geographically dispersed workforce through in-person gatherings.
They were using WeWork AllAccess for a handful of employees but felt that approach was neither equitable nor scalable. They were looking for a solution for their entire employee population of around 700 distributed employees.
Eric Buol, Workplace Operations Manager at Checkr, shared their journey with Gable. "The biggest pain points we were facing in our strategy were cost and access – being able to expand the scope of what we can do in a financially scalable way for our team," he said.

Not only was Checkr able to expand the coworking access to all 700 of their remote employees worldwide with Gable, but they also saw drastic cost savings compared to WeWork AllAccess.
“Our cost savings with Gable have been astronomical. The visibility we get through Gable is beneficial. With what we were using before, we didn't have that visibility until the end of the month, when we saw the overage costs be astronomically high. Here, we have more visibility within the platform to know what's going on and how we can best serve our employees,” Eric said.
Expanding access to global coworking for Checkr means they’re no longer paying overage costs equal to or more expensive than a monthly subscription for each employee. Switching to Gable got them to a place where they have control over both their spending and how employees use Gable to get together and connect.
Besides the On-Demand feature, which gives employees access to coworking spaces worldwide, Checkr also uses Gable’s HQ feature to manage their offices in San Francisco, Denver, and Santiago, Chile.
“As we continue to expand our geographical footprint, we use Gable to help track headcount in our offices, and it helps us know how we can rightsize our real estate footprint in a way that serves our community in the best way. This insight has led us to know how many employees come into the office daily. It has been an integral data piece as we continue exploring different real estate options as our headcount grows.”
